As condemnation and eminent domain attorneys, Schroder & Strom frequently represents property owners in connection with the acquisition or “taking” of their real estate by the government, commonly referred to as “condemnation proceedings.”
Such representation involves negotiations with the “taking” authority to arrive at a fair purchase price. If a fair price cannot be agreed upon, we go to court to represent the property owner in condemnation and eminent domain proceedings to obtain “just compensation” over and above the initial offered amount.
Such representation involves intensive negotiations and trial, if necessary. In addition, while extremely rare, our representation may include a challenge to the legality of the eminent domain proceeding itself if warranted.
